The Crew are a collection of comics, actors and other talented types who possess very vivid imaginations and the amazing ability to spontaneously create stories filled with drama, action and, of course, comedy out of a single-word suggestion from the audience. Masters of a variety of improvisational styles, The Crew are to able create a great scene in 10 seconds or keep it going for 30 minutes, delighting the audience with layered and hilarious tales, songs or quick fire impro games.

The Crew started performing together at The Comic's Lounge one Sunday evening during the 2001 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, with no name and no real idea as to what they were going to do. However, they soon realised they had something special and so did their audiences, which steadily grew as word of their show, 'Impro Sundae' got around. 'Impro Sundae' is now the longest running and most successful weekly impro comedy night in Australia, dazzling thousands of punters since its inception.

Troy is often recognized from his performance on ‘The Search for Australia’s Funniest Man’ DVD featured with FHM magazine in Jan 2006. Troy had been performing stand up comedy for less than a year prior to this performance and has since won almost every young comic competition in the country. Among which was the ‘You Gotta Be Joking’ competition at the Comic’s Lounge in Melbourne. This win saw Troy receive the prize of a trip to New York to attend the American Institute of Comedy. In only six weeks Troy managed to impress enough of the right people to earn him comedy spots at world famous comedy clubs Caroline’s on Broadway, Stand Up New York and Gotham Comedy club.

Since returning from New York, Troy has appeared on The Comedy Channel’s Stand Up Australia and  Comedy Gold, C31’s Comic’s Lounge Live, and Hughsie Kate and Dave’s ‘Wednesday Wacky’ segment on Nova 100. He has recently worked for MIX FM and GOLD FM in Melbourne as part of the ‘on air’ promotional street teams, during which he performed different ‘on air’ roles such as Bachelor ‘The Troy’, Rocketman, the Time Keeper and even Santa Clause.

As well as performing regularly at comedy clubs and sporting clubs around the country, Troy has been requested for many charity, corporate and Christmas functions, performed for workers at over 50 of Western Australia’s Mining Camps, and has recently returned from East Timor where he spent two weeks entertaining the Troops of Australia's Armed Defense Forces.

Des Dowling is one of Melbourne's most sought after stand-up comedians, just ask him. He started his professional life as a journalist in the print media.
From there he worked for more than a decade as a TV News reporter for the ABC, Channel 9 and Channel 7.
After working as a current affairs reporter on "A Current Affair" (Ch 9) and "Real Life" (Channel 7) he decided being regarded with the same disdain as used car salesmen and corrupt politicians wasn't any way to go through life.
He opted out of the harsh glare of commercial television and entered the seedy world of stand up comedy only to end up back in the harsh glare of commercial television working as Sam Newman's writer and segment producer on "The Footy Show".
Des' comedy schtick is the sum of his experiences, from wide eyed farm boy to jaded journo with something in between for people of all ages and backgrounds, except perhaps used car salesmen and corrupt politicians.
He marked his arrival on the national stage with a place in the Australian final of the Triple J Raw Comedy competition in 1998 and has appeared regularly on television (Channel 9, Channel 7, the ABC and the Comedy Channel) and radio (MMM, Fox FM and 3AW).

Human. Comedian. Sometimes actor and breathing enthusiast. With his accessible humour and free flowing style, Dave’s success as a comic has quickly broadened into a range of performance credits on TV, radio and stage.

Dave has gone on to appear as a panelist on Good News Week, ' Talkin’ bout Your Generation' and The (7pm) Project. He was also a weekly team member on Channel 7’s panel show The White Room… for both weeks it was on air. Dave was a regular on Comedy Inc- The Late Shift in 2007 and showed another side by (pseudo) serious acting in an ongoing role in ABC’s Bed of Roses, which aired in 2008. Alas his character in BOR went off to Perth and has since never returned for the preceding 2 seasons (I think the time difference is too much for him to handle).

To add to his resume Dave also lent his hand to radio while doing both the national Summer and Winter programmes on NovaFM, Saturday morning shows & numerous Breakfast fill-in gigs. Dave has worked with such comedians as Adam Hills, Dave O’Doherty (IRE), Tripod, Dave Hughes and many, many more. In all of this he still fits in time to play, or realistically limp through, division-C Thursday night basketball. He is a Sagittarian who enjoys long walks in the park and getting caught in the rain.
